A school-based assessment for an individual pupil where behaviour, regulation or access to learning is becoming difficult to understand, manage or shift.
It combines observation, staff discussion and review of relevant information to identify the pattern, the level of concern and practical next steps for school.
This assessment is useful when support is in place but not landing consistently, behaviour is escalating, learning access is reduced, or adults have different views about what is happening.
It can also help where autism, ADHD, attachment needs, communication needs or sensory differences may be part of the picture.
A clear summary report setting out what appears to be happening in school, what may be getting in the way of regulation or learning access, and a small number of practical recommendations staff can use without overload.
The aim is to reduce confusion, improve consistency and support responses that protect pupil dignity, staff capacity and access to learning.

I review up to five key documents before the visit, including current plans, key recommendations and what has already been tried.

I visit school for approximately 2–3 hours to observe the pupil in context and speak with relevant staff.

You receive same-day practical feedback, followed by a written summary report within 10 working days.
Some situations need a more detailed written report, particularly where the school needs evidence for EHCP planning, exclusion-risk decision-making, reduced timetable review, placement instability or significant concern about risk.
Enhanced Pupil Behaviour & Regulation Assessment reports start from £850. For higher-scope reports, email a short outline of the situation and what the report needs to support. I’ll confirm the most suitable scope before any work is agreed.
